DESCRIPTION OF THE FOOTPRINTS AND CONTOURS
Obverse common to the two coins: Free interpretation of the symbol
San Marino, from whose towers the three plumes surmounted by a crown emerge, the plumes with the addition of two circles create an ornamental motif reminiscent of the Olympic symbol; at the base the battlements; under a brazier with Greek decorations from which a flame is released which takes the shape of a dove, a symbol of peace; around the legend REPUBLIC OF SAN MARINO; on the left side near the Tower the year of issue 2003, the symbol of the Italian Mint which oversaw its minting R, in the lower part the name of the author of the COLANERI sketch.
Reverse of the €5.00 coin: Around the Parthenon the most important competitions at the time of the first Olympics are represented, taken from ancient paintings on vases of Greek origin, at the bottom the value 5 Euro, around the writing "OLYMPICS 2004"
Edge: Continuous knurling.
Reverse of the €10.00 coin: Representation in which some of the most representative figures and symbols of today's Olympic Games rotate, the value at the bottom

The Secretary of State for Finance and the Budget certifies that the technical characteristics of the two silver coins of €5.00 and €10.00, legal tender in San Marino, minted with a 2003 thousandth pursuant to the Regency Decree
n. 46 of 23/4/2003, are the following:
Diameter: 32 mm for the €5.00 coin and 34 mm for the €10.00 coin;
Title: 925 silver; Weight: gr. 18 for the €5.00 and gr coin. 22 for the €10.00 coin
Mintage: Proof; Author of the sketches: COLANERI (Recto and Verso).
