While most GMT timepieces indicate the second time zone with an additional hand, the Montblanc 1858 GMT presents the GMT indication without hands in an intuitive and legible way. The Montblanc 1858 GMT indicates the second time zone with a red square moving around the outside of the dial. This red square is positioned next to a fixed blue anodized aluminum bezel with 24-hour disc. This system also indicates half hours. Other functions include the date and central seconds hand. The timepiece is housed in a 42mm stainless steel case and features a blue “soleil” finish dial and an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet with refined taper and adjustments, for a perfect fit. An engraving on the case back shows the continents, oceans and names of cities in each of the 24 time zones, offering an indication of universal time.
