A slender figure flies through the air, the soles of his feet pointing forward like a loose arrow. It is an image inextricably linked to the name of Bruce Lee. The actor, director, philosopher and martial arts legend set a standard that is still aspired to today. Born in San Francisco in 1940, he grew up in Hong Kong and was from the beginning the embodiment of two worlds: East and West. Films such as The Fury of China Strikes Again (1971) or From China with Fury (1972) and a legendary fight scene in Chen's How to Terrify the West (1972) made him famous throughout the world. It was precisely the fusion between an exemplary physique, a philosophical depth and a strong stage presence that made him so unique and that pushed Montblanc to dedicate the Great Characters Homage to Bruce Lee Special Edition to him and, in particular, to Bruce Lee the actor. Bruce Lee's birth on November 27, 1940 coincided not only with the time, but also with the Year of the Dragon. A dragon also plays a fundamental role in the design of the Special Edition: a drawing of this mythological creature covered in scales, created by Bruce Lee, inspired the motif depicted on the black precious resin of the body. The ruthenium-finished cone is embellished with a bumblebee flying around it, a reference to the television series that paved the way for Bruce Lee to stardom. The talented actor nicknamed Little Dragon is honored with a refined representation of the Chinese character for “dragon” on the Montblanc emblem in white precious resin. The legendary outfit worn by Bruce Lee in the film Chen's Last Stand inspired the choice of yellow precious resin for the hood. In homage to the decorative frame of the original poster of the film The Three Dragons, thin geometric lines outline the contour of its glossy surface. The clip with a refined texture of the Great Characters Homage to Bruce Lee Special Edition takes the shape of a nunchaku stick, while the cap ring resembles a bamboo cane.
