Throughout history, great artists have expressed the human experience in a universal language of form and beauty. The Montblanc Masters of Art Collection pays homage to their eternal contribution to the pursuit of perfection in art: a pursuit that Montblanc has always promoted and celebrated. Pierre-Auguste Renoir is one of the most prominent precursors of modernism, whose sunny paintings laid the foundations of an entire movement: Impressionism. Paying respectful homage to the pioneering work of this illustrious French impressionist, Montblanc has created the Masters of Art Homage to Pierre-Auguste Renoir Limited Edition 4810. As if to immortalize Renoir's presence, the edition is crafted from olive wood and daubed with paint as if plucked directly from the artist's hand. The painter himself probably would not have chosen any other wood, as he loved the old olive trees in his garden in the south of France, to which he had dedicated so many paintings. Renoir captured fleeting moments and translated them onto canvas using bright colors and quick brushstrokes. An intriguing detail is the finishing clip now shaped like two brushes, like those used by Renoir to create both the finer details and larger surfaces of his masterpieces. The top of the cap is decorated with a precious ultramarine resin surrounding the Montblanc emblem. The ring on the top of the cap is engraved 1874, the year of the first exhibition of this new generation of artists, the Impressionists. 1874 therefore marks the birth of impressionism as a movement in its own right. The delicate folding fan with two tassels that adorns the hand-crafted Au 750 solid gold nib is a tribute to the meaning of the fan, an accessory that appears in many of Renoir's works, especially in many of his insightful portraits of women. As a tribute to the skill of the painter, a silver tip made of delicate Ag 925 sterling silver is integrated into the gold-finish cone, which allows you to make sketches with a silver tip.
