From the IVV archives it appears that this was the first vase ever made by the Tuscan glassworks, in 1952, the year of its birth. The opportunity arose when the newly formed IVV was called to participate in an exhibition of objects made from mouth-blown glass, which was held in Capalbio in 1952 and in which Italian and international glassmakers participated. IVV presented this vase in two sizes and, after this appearance, deliberately did not put it into production, to underline the iconic nature of the first piece. The seventieth anniversary of the glassworks is the best time to present it and tell its story. The original colors were reproduced as faithfully as possible, based on the indications found in the archive notes and recovering the processing techniques of the time to obtain the two different red effects, shiny in the large and opaque in the small.
