CAPODAGLI RING WHITE GOLD IOLITE 2.00 CT AND DIAMONDS 0.50 CT
In mineralogy, cordierite (or iolite in gemology) is a mineral, more precisely a cyclosilicate of aluminium, iron and magnesium.
It is known for its very evident pleochroism, that is, a change in color depending on the direction from which it is illuminated, so much so that it was called dichroite ("two colors", in ancient Greek). When it appears as a gem, with a blue-purple colour, it is called "iolite".
Iolite is a gem which, due to its color and particularity, has been able to carve out its own share in the gemological market over the years; It owes part of its fame to its blue-purple hue which has earned it the nickname "water sapphire".
