The Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph is an invitation to relive the Champ-de-Mars horse race of 1821. The dial depicts a 19th century scene with four jockeys with their horses at the Champ-de-Mars racecourse in Paris, crossing the finish line where Nicolas Rieussec used to be with his invention of the ink chronograph. The gold-finish details of the Arabic numerals, hour and minute hands and chronograph counters match the brown dial perfectly. On the edge are engraved in French "Académie des Sciences de Paris" and "Chronographe Nicolas Rieussec, a reference to the recognition of Rieussec's invention in 1821. The inside of the strap also features a map of Paris dating back to 1821. The brown calfskin strap was designed by Montblanc's Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta who, due to its pointed shape, was inspired by nibs of the Maison's writing instruments. Limited to 821 pieces, the timepiece features a 43 mm case in stainless steel and is powered by the MB R200 automatic monopusher chronograph movement. From the geometry of the cobbled streets of Paris comes a graphic clou de Paris motif that decorates the oscillating weight.
