Calibre 80 Silicon Chronometer

MIDO decided to optimize its most representative movement, the Caliber 80, by equipping it with a silicon spiral.
In addition to its anti-magnetic properties, this material, which is indispensable in high-end watchmaking, offers a long-term precision much higher than that of a normal spiral, with higher impact resistance characteristics. The watch is a COSC-certified chronometer and offers exceptional autonomy for up to 80 hours of power reserve.

The "stopwatch" certification guarantees the high precision of a watch or movement.

Tests conducted by COSC include verification of the number engraved on the movement of the watch and tests in a test environment. Each movement is individually controlled according to a strict procedure of several days in five positions and at different temperatures (8°C, 23°C and 38°C). For 15 days, the watch is subjected to daily checks. Every day, including Saturdays and Sundays, instruments are measured and loaded. If the movement meets the requirements, the chronometry certification is issued.
